Have you ever wondered why people don't always judge fake nails, spray tans, and most hair color? People usually always
judge others with tattoos and piercings, which is wierd, sense they are both fashion statements. If you have fake nails, or you dyed
your hair, you're still going to have a better chance of getting a job than if you had a visible tattoo or peircing.
Even though tattoos and piercings are extremely popular today, they started in ancient times. "The oldest tattoo was
discovered in 1991. It was founded on a mummy known as Oetzi, an iceman dated to be at least 5300 years ago." -
www.historyoftattoos.org...(page # 1). No one really knew why these tattoos were on him since they just consisted of vertical lines.
Some think tattoos were used as acupuncture to relieve pain in joints. Later, tattoos started to be used on people who worked in
the circus. They would cover every inch of there body in tattoosk, but today they are used to express yourself in and artistic way
and is classified as and unprofessional fashion statement.
If tattoos and piercings are just a present day fashion statement, then why can't people who have them get hired with out
being forced to cover there skin? People with fake nails aren't covering there hands. Today, we get judged from what's on the
outside more than anything, and it needs to stop.
When applying at a resaurant or office if you have a visible tattoo or piercing the chances of being called back for an interview is
hardly a reality. We should give every person a chance, because they deserve it no matter what there appearance is. These people
with tattoos and piercings only have a few choices of a good career. There limited jobs usually consist of tattoo parlors, a rock star,
or a taxi driver or operator, because the fashion statement is accepted.
I would like you to imagine a world that never judged another person on there appearance of expression. If people wouldn't
pass up all the wonderful edjucated people that have a different sense of style, or art, just because of the appearance of ones skin,
who knows where society would be. We've probably passed up the cure for cancer by now, because that person had a tattoo that
couldn't be covered. So i would like to support you to not judge someone by there appearance, and really see what's on the inside.
You never know who you might run into.
